Rugged man who is now a full-fledged fashion label owner has dismissed insinuations he has abandoned music for good.

In an exclusive interview, he told our correspondent “Music will always be a part of me. It’s just that fashion has come to stay side by side with music. I have a new single with Olamide and Ice Prince and I have my record label Rugged Records which I still run. So it is incorrect for people to insinuate that I have abandoned music.”

Fans started to raise eye brows when he actively started promoting his fashion label on air and online in 2009. (He had not released a song for months.) Critics allege he has fallen off the music rader following a long spell of absence from the music scene.

Ruggedman has however released and collaborated in several singles since flouting his line. His last video Agidi ft Wande Coal was shot in August last year. He broke into the Nigerian music industry in 1999 with his hit single Ehen and Ruggedy Baba ft 9ice in 2011. They remain two of his biggest selling singles to date.
