Chief Olu Falae
Leader of Oodua People’s Congress, Dr. Fredric Faseun has lambasted the Federal Government for not issuing an official statement on the abduction of former secretary to the government, Chief Olu Falae.
He said this while reacting to the issue as he summoned members of the OPC to comb the nooks and crannies of Ondo State and beyond to rescue the Afenifere leader from his kidnapers.
He said, “24 hours following the kidnap, the Federal Government is yet to officially react to the incident.” “Over 24 hours after this disruption of the life of a dignitary, government has not issued any statement; rather what we hear is a loud silence from the Federal Government. It is a shame; it is a big shame,” Fasehun said.
He described the abduction as insult to Nigeria and Nigerians, adding that OPC felt concerned at Falae’s kidnap and would use its strength to apprehend the captors.
Fasehun feared that the kidnapping of the top-flight politician portended ill for his fellows. “We believe this is a political issue. And any politician in Nigeria must make sure that Chief Olu Falae is released immediately,” he said. “Otherwise OPC will take any step available to defend its own.”
