Muhammadu Buhari at UNGA
President Muhammadu Buhari has urged world leaders to strictly kick against corruption by ensuring that they return all stolen funds to the countries of origin.
He made this call at the ongoing United Nations General Assembly, New York, adding, “We must dismantle safe havens for proceeds of corruption, and ensure return of stolen funds to countries of origin.”
The president gets a rousing ovation as he concludes his speech at UNGA. He also asks for self-determination for Palestine and Western Sahara.
According to Buhari, the world now is facing a big new challenge in the area of human trafficking and terrorism, calling on world leaders to step up the security strategies in combating the problem. Reply The president told the assembly that one of the Federal Government’s major aims is to rescue the Chibok girls alive and unharmed. “They are always on our minds, and in our plans,” he stated. We have driven Boko Haram away from their strongholds, killed or captured many of their commanders.
