Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Motorists have given 24-hour-ultimatum to Lagos, Ogun and Federal Governments to fix a damaged portion of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway or face their wrath.

A portion of the road between Arepo and Warewa junctions had thrown motorists into nightmare of heavy traffic since three weeks ago.

A journey of three minutes between Berger and Warewa has turned to about two hours while the opposing side from Ibadan to Lagos at the same junctions is not different. Besides the bad portion at Ibafo, which has been a perennial problem for motorists, another portion has gone bad at Warewa and it is creating heavy vehicular traffic on the road. Motorists sleep on the road due to the bad portion.

Students and commuters are always stranded as they trek the long bridge to get to their destinations. The cost of transportation had increased arbitrarily by about 300 per cent. The transport fare that costs N50 between Berger and Magboro is now put at N400.
