Saraki's Trial
The trial of President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki took a new dimension on Thursday as all the lawyers representing him walked out of Code of Conduct Tribunal. The lawyers – Saka Issau (SAN), Ahmed Raji (SAN), Mahmud Magaji (SAN) and 23 others described the tribunal’s decision to proceed with the case despite the pending case at the Supreme Court as “judicial rascality.” However, the tribunal Chairman, Danladi Umar, described Saraki’s lawyers’ conduct as act of disrespect to the court, saying the walk out was unwarranted. Saraki is facing 13-count-charge allegation of false declaration of assets. The trial was adjourned to November 19.
